Description: The US Navy's EPX is a shore-based aircraft delivering transformational, multi-intelligence capability as well as strike targeting information to the warfighter. Actually, the new airborne platform will provide intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting (ISR&T) support to carrier strike groups and theater, combatant and national commanders. The US Navy's EPX program is aimed at delivering a replacement for the EP-3E Aries II aircraft featuring greatly expanded capabilities.

The EPX requirement was issued by the US Navy in November 2007. Northrop Grumman and L-3 Communications form one of the industry teams that are bidding for the EPX program. Boeing and Argon ST team are also competing for the EPX contract.
