Description:
South Korea's K200 is an amphibious armored personnel carrier developed by Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery, now Doosan Infracore, based on US AIFV. Doosan Infracore developed a complete family of armored vehicles based on the K200/Korean Infantry Fighting Vehicle tracked chassis. These vehicles are powered by a diesel engine rated at 350-hp and weigh roughly 13 tons. The Korean Army took delivery of first K200 vehicle in 1984. Several thousands vehicles have been produced for South Korea so far. Malaysia remains as the sole export customer.
K263 is a mobile air defense variant of K200A1 fitted with a 20mm anti-aircraft gun. In addition to low altitude airborne targets, K263 may engage ground targets. Its 20mm cannon, with a rate of fire of 3,000 rounds per minute, has an effective range of 1,200 meters against airborne targets and up to 2,000 meters against ground targets.
