Description: The S-300V, SA-12 NATO-codename, is a long range, Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) system intended to provide advanced air defense capability for vital battlefield and rear areas as well as country's administrative and political centers. It is able to engage advanced aerodynamic and ballistic threats in all-weather and severe clutter and jamming environment.

The S-300V weapon system comprises a command post vehicle, an all-around surveillance radar, a sector scanning radar, up to 4 missile guidance radars, and up to 24 launcher (TEL) vehicles. All these equipment are mounted on tracked vehicles featuring enhanced cross country mobility, while S-300 employs wheeled vehicles. Repair, maintenance and training facilities are also associated to each S-300V SAM system.

The Antei-2500 (aka S-300VM or S-330?) is an improved variant of S-300V/2 intended to intercept Ballistic Missiles with an estimated average range of 2,500km. It was developed in late 1990s being offered for export markets (Israel, Greece, India and the European Union) but no sale has been confirmed.

The Antei-2500 retains the basic characteristics of S-300V/2 anti-ballistic missile (ABM) defense system. It can detect targets as far as 350 kilometers and ballistic missiles warheads traveling at 4,500 meters per second (Mach 13) within 3 seconds. Russian sources claim that Antei-2500 can engage up to 16 ballistic targets at the same time.
