AAM-L

IOC: 2000

Also Known As: KS-172

Program Status: Cancelled

Description: The KS-172/AAM-L was a long range air-to-air missile designed to counter high-value, low maneuverable aircraft such as E-3 AWACS airborne warning and control system and tanker aircraft at ranges of 400 km. The Russians unveiled the AAM-L missile in the 1990s as part of the Su-27M/Su-35 aircraft's weapon options.
