Description: The Python 5 is the latest member of the Python air-to-air missile family designed to engage enemy aircraft with a full sphere launch capability. It can be launched from very short to beyond visual ranges featuring excellent countermeasures resistance and great kill probability even against high maneuverable targets. It incorporates a new dual waveband imaging seeker, advanced computer architecture, INS, and IR Counter-Countermeasures.

The Python 5 missile will be used in combination with the Derby Medium range air-to-air missile within the Air Force of Israel. The dual waveband seeker will enable Python 5 to engage small, low-siganture, low-flying targets even in adverse weather and cloudy environments.
