Description: The AN/ALQ-172 systems provides protection to large military aircraft as the B-52s and C-130s. ALQ-172 is a reliable, high efficiency, combat-proven system.

The AN/ALQ-172 was integrated for B-52H Stratofortress bomber and C-130's special operations variants, AC-130U Gunship and MC-130E/H Combat Talon aircraft.

The ALQ-172(V)3 is the most recent upgraded model. ITT Industries is upgrading existing AN/ALQ-172 electronic warfare systems adding modern components, new threats profiles and the latest technology.

ITT Avionics is under contract with the US Air Force for the upgrade of AN/ALQ-172(V)2 Electronic Countermeasures System to Electronic Countermeasures Improvement configuration on B-52H aircraft. This work will be complete by December 2006.
