Description: The AN/ALQ-184 is a self-defense electronic countermeasures pod used on USAF tactical aircraft. It operates in both receive and transmit modes to selectively direct high power jamming against multiple emitters. This system is very reliable detecting potential threats. The ALQ-184 is available in two-(Mid and High band) and three-band (Mid, High and Low band) configurations.

The AN/ALQ-184(V)9 combines the proven ALQ-184 with latest generation AN/ALE-50 system to achieve better aircraft protection. An Advanced correlation processor determines whether the ALQ-184 or the ALE-50 is used to provide the most effective counter to a threat. (V)9 includes up to 4 ALE-50 decoys/launchers and a single launch controller. Raytheon is marketing an upgrade kit allowing existing ALQ-184 ECM pods to achieve ALQ-184(V)9 standard.
