Description:
The AN/ALQ-218 Tactical Jamming System Receiver (TJSR) is an Electronic Warfare (EW) receiver suite designed by Northrop-Grumman to replace the ALQ-99 receiver subsystem onboard the US Navy EA-6B aircraft under the ICAP III airborne electronic attack system. It provides precision passive radar threat detection, identification, precision geolocation, and jammer control.
In March 2006 the US Navy awarded Northrop Grumman Lot II full rate production contract worth $73 million. The contract was for production of four AN/ALQ-218s under ICAP III program to be delivered by September 2009. In September 2006 the US Navy added a $22 million for ICAP III spares.
