Description: The IMI's ITALD is an improved version of combat-proven TALD tactical air-launched decoy designed to appear as a real fighter aircraft target on hostile radar screens. It has been integrated with tactical aircraft from the Israel Air Force and the US Navy being launched from standard bomb rackets. Thanks to the addition of a turbo-jet the ITALD achieved extended range of 160 nm and improved maneuverability compared with its predecessor. It flies at speeds between 0.45 and 0.8 Mach and altitudes between 300 to 30,000-ft. The new tactical decoy also has enhanced avionics, GPS-aided navigation and terrain-following capability which enable a variety of pre-programmed mission maneuvers.

Despite being intended primarily as a cost-effective fire and forget (autonomous) state-of-the-art fighter aircraft decoy system, the ITALD is also suitable as an advanced training system for air defenses in various levels of difficulty. In the same way, it can be used to test enemy air defenses or activating them during a conflict.
