Description:
The BAE Systems Australia ALR2002 ComBat is an advanced radar warning receiver (RWR) designed to meet the requirements of the Australian Defence Force. This advanced airborne electronic sensor passively uses the electromagnetic spectrum to gain information on other radars in the operating environment.
In late September 2004 the ALR2002 entered low rate production phase after BAE Systems Australia was awarded an AUD$8.9 million contract by the Australian Ministry of Defence.
The ALR2002B variant was designed to fit into fast jets such as Australia's F/A-18 Hornets.
