Description: AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) is a infrared-guided missile warning system available for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. It has been integrated on the AV-8B Harrier, F-15E, F-16 and F/A-18 aircraft. It has been acquired by the US Army for its fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft integrated into AN/ALQ-212 ATIRCM directable jamming and countermeasures system. The US Army approved the procurement of the CMWS in September 2004.
