Description:
The AN/ALR-69 is an improved variant of the aircraft-mounted AN/ALR-46 radar warning receiver. ALR-69 is used on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-4 Phantom, MH-53, F-16 Fighting Falcon, C-130 Hercules, A-7D Corsair aircraft. This radar warner performs rapid and accurate radar enemy emissions location. The ALR-69(V) is the standard equipment on US Air Force aircraft such as C-130, F-16, A-10 and MH-53. ALR-69A(V) was the most advanced variant produced by Raytheon as of August 2005.
ALR-69A(V) highly advanced digital radar warning receiver is based upon ALR-69(V). ALR-69A(V) program started in August 2001 with flight tests beginning in late 2005. Its low rate initial production (LRIP) decision was anticipated in 2006. In August 2005 ALR-69A(V) was selected for the Advanced Tactical Targeting Technology (AT3) program to be demonstrated in 2007 on three Block 30 F-16s under a $10 million contract. AT3 focus on rapid and accurate location of radiofrequency emitters by networked aircraft without using external hardware only depending on their ALR-69A(V) warners.
On 26 June 2006, the US Air Force awarded Raytheon a $9.3 million contract for 10 AN/ALR-69A(V) all-digital radar warners to replace older ALR-69(V) installed on C-130, F-16, A-10 and MH-53 aircraft. These 10 systems were scheduled for delivery in 2007. The first ALR-69A(V) procurement contract was issued in August 2001 for 17 such systems. ALR-69A(V) solves the part-obsolescence problems on the ALR-69(V) radar warning receiver.
