AN/APG-65

Description: The AN/APG-73 is an all-weather, coherent, multimode, multiwaveform search and track sensor that uses programmable digital processors to provide the features and flexibility required for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. The APG-73 is a derivative of APG-65 radar with greater memory capacity, improved reliability, higher throughputs and easier maintenance.

The APG-73 provides high resolution ground maps comparable with those of the F-15E and the U-2 aircraft. The APG-73 has been installed on late F/A-18C/D and early F/A-18E/F aircraft.

In June 2006 Raytheon delivered the last mechanically scanned APG-73 radar system to the US Navy for integration on the F/A-18E/F aircraft. APG-73 radar production started in 1993 and was deployed on the F/A-18C/D/E/F family aircraft.
