Description:
The AN/APQ-174/186 multimode radar family provides terrain following and terrain avoidance for military aircraft. It allows flight operations down to 100-ft (30 meters) at night, with adverse weather and in high threat environments. It also lowers the probability of detection by enemy forces.
The APQ-186 is a derivative of the APQ-174 currently being developed for the US Air Force CV-22 special operations tilt rotor.
