Description: The AN/APY-1 is a rotodome-mounted pulse Doppler radar system developed by Westinghouse for the United States Air Force E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). Rotating six times per minute this radar system has the ability to detect and track targets over the horizon, sea surface and/or flying at low altitude. Currently, Northrop Grumman is responsible for providing logistics support to this radar system which remains in service with early E-3 aircraft. Originally massive AN/APY-1 was installed on the first 25 production Sentry aircraft.
