Description: Northrop Grumman AN/APY-2 is a development of APY-1 pulse Doppler radar system installed on E-3 AWACS aircraft. It features the ability to detect and track targets over the horizon, sea surface and/or flying at low altitude. The AN/APY-2 advanced radar system was provided to the E-3 and E-767 aircraft and features greater tracking capacity for more than 600 targets flying at low altitude. Like the APY-1, the APY-2 is mounted in the rotodome above the rear fuselage.
