Description:
The Warrior EO/IR/LD (electro-optical/infrared/laser designator) is a sensor package featuring Wide Area Search (WAS) and tracking of moving targets on the ground. In 2005 it was selected as the multi-sensor payload for the US Army's Warrior Unmanned Aerial System to provide the Warrior with reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition. Basically, Raytheon's Warrior EO/IR/LD consists of a third-generation mid-wave sensor that has six fields of view, WAS, continuous zoom and targeting color televisions, and an eye-safe laser range finder. The multi-sensor could be expanded in the near future through the addition of high definition video formatting, laser target marking and image intensified TV.
In August 2006 Raytheon had already delivered 10 Warrior EO/IR/LD systems to the US Army for sensor evaluation.
