Description: The ARL-M is a multi-mode, X-band, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) being capable of reconnaissance and surveillance missions. Its WAMTI mode scans a10,000 square-kilometer area in less than a minute detecting ground movers/targets. The ground movers/targets' direction and location information is also displayed by the ARL-M system. The SAR spot mode provides 1.8 meter resolution imagery of a 10 square-kilometer area. The ARL-M radar system, evolved form Raytheon's HISAR technology, is operational on the US Army's RC-7B, a modified DHC-7, aircraft.
