Description: The ASARS-2 is the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar System designed for the US Air Force U-2 aircraft. It provides high resolution radar imagery from long ranges during day or night even with adverse weather. ASARS-2 detects and accurately locates fixed and moving ground targets. It gathers detailed information, formats the data, and transmits high resolution images.

U-2S's ASARS-2 radar sensor is the foundation of other SAR ground mapping radars such as ARL-M, HISAR and Global Hawk.
