Description: The Northrop Grumman Airborne Signals Intelligence Payload 2C (ASIP-2C) is a signals intelligence sensor payload being developed for integration on the US Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV). It is an expanded version of ASIP-1C sensor package designed for integration on the MQ-1 Predator unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The ASIP-2C sensor payload is intended to deliver enhanced communications intelligence collection and exploitation capabilities. The US Air Force ordered the ASIP-2C preliminary design in April 2008 under a $54.9 million contract. The ASIP-2C, as well as the ASIP-1C, is a scaled, modular derivative of the ASIP sensor developed for the U-2 and RQ-4 Global Hawk platforms and will be interoperable with other intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets.
