Description: The CAPTOR is an advanced, X-band, pulse-Doppler radar developed for the Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role fighter. CAPTOR is an integral part of the Typhoon weapon system providing air-to-air and air-to-surface modes. It can detect, identify, prioritize, and engage airborne threats beyond the visual range. In air-to-surface mode the CAPTOR will provide navigation as well as detection and engagement of both moving and stationary surface targets delivering precision-guided weapons.

The CAPTOR features look-down/shoot-down capability, multi-target capability, countermeasures-resistance, fully software re-programmable, high reliability and availability, and low costs of ownership. The CAPTOR radar system is expected to remain in service with the Typhoon fighter well beyond 2025.
