Description: The Telephonics RDR-1700B multi-mode maritime and imaging radar has been designed to serve as search, surveillance, tracking and weather avoidance radar system mounted on both manned and unmanned fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. This X-band radar can handle multiple targets and is optimized for maritime missions such as airborne patrol, search and rescue (SAR), interdiction, EEZ (Economic Exclusive Zone) patrol, contraband control, and fisheries protection. Using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and ISAR (Inverse SAR) modes provides a maximum image resolution of one meter.
In January 2013, the RDR-1700B+ radar was selected for the MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned aircraft.
