Description: The Sino-Russian Long-Range Wide Body Commercial Aircraft (LRWBCA) is a twin-engine, wide body airliner designed to compete with the Airbus A330 and A350 and the Boeing 777 and 787 airliners. The new airliner is being developed in partnership between COMAC of China and UAC of Russia. The aircraft will be able to carry 250-to-280 passengers over a distance of 12,000 kilometers. It is expected that the new airplane will be offered in three versions and its development will cost approximately $13 billion. Russia will develop the engines for the new airplane that will be assembled in Shanghai, China. The maiden flight in scheduled in 2022 and the entry into revenue service is expected by 2025. In late September 2017 the new airliner received the CR929 designation with the three models to be named CR929-500, CR929-600 and CR929-700.

The CR929-500 is the shortened fuselage version of the CR929 wide-body aircraft family.
