Description: The Kh-29 is a short range, supersonic air-to-surface missile family intended to destroy stationary hardened ground and surface targets. The spectrum of targets for the Kh-29 missile family are big railway and highway bridges, industrial installations, concrete runways, aircraft in reinforced concrete shelters, and surface vessels displacing up to 10,000 tons. It was integrated on the Mig-27, Su-17, Su-22, Su-24 and Su-25 soviet attack airplanes, as well as on other soviet-made multirole fighter aircraft. The Kh-29 is the Soviet counterpart to the proven US AGM-65 Maverick missile family.
The Kh-29D features an infrared guidance system.
