Its sophisticated guidance system is fitted with a semi-active laser and GPS seeker. The weapon carries a 50 kg warhead. IAI developed the Nimrod 3 based on the IMI 160mm artillery rocket. This weapon has been designed to be launched from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) with forward scouting teams equipped with laser designators directing the Nimrod 3 missiles. The Nimrod 3 is suitable for operations at day/night and its flight path can be set below the clouds.
