Description:
The Trigat is a third generation anti-tank missile designed to counter armored tanks protected by ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) or APS (Active Protection System). The guidance system consists of a coded laser beam aiming at the target. The Trigat's seeker detects the laser beam reflected on the target and guides the missile to the target. This guidance system is countermeasures-resistant.
The Trigat's propulsion system features thrust vector control acting at the missile centre-body providing high maneuverability to the missile and allowing low speed launching. This capability is very valuable to carry out Trigat launching in confined space (urban warfare).
Trigat features a double shaped charge warhead able to destroy the best protected armored targets and detonated by proximity. This warhead penetrates 1.3 meters in ERA-protected armor or up to 3 meters in reinforced concrete. It suitable against mobile and fixed position targets.
The Trigat-MR (medium-range) or Trigan is intended to replace the man-portable, combat-proven Milan anti-tank missile in service with dismounted infantry.
