Description: The ASM-2, also known as Type 93, is an air-launched anti-ship missile developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries based upon the SSM-1 anti-ship missile. The ASM-2 is shorter and lighter than SSM-1 apparently to better suit fighter aircraft applications. The guidance system is based on a combination of inertial navigation plus infrared imaging homing head which replaces the SSM-1 guidance system's radar seeker.
