Description: The Ariete is a main battle tank (MBT) with greater firepower, improved armor protection and mobility than current Leopard 1 in service in the Italian Army. It can engage stationary or moving targets during day and night even on the move employing its L44 120mm (44 calibers) smoothbore stabilized gun. It is powered by a 1,300-hp diesel engine with fully automatic transmission. The Ariete features a gunner's thermal sight and a commander's stabilized panoramic day/night sight which provides hunter-killer capability to the Ariete main battle tank.
