Description: The LAV 700 is a 32-ton class, highly protected, wheeled armored vehicle developed on the basis of the Canadian Army LAV 6.0 armored vehicle. The add-on armor kits provide outstanding protection against ballistic threats which along the self-sealing fuel tanks, energy attenuating seating and double V-hull provide increased survivability. The LAV 700 power train has been upgraded to deliver enhanced performance as well as easy of maintenance with an astonishing maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour and road autonomy of 1,000 kilometers. The vehicle features a payload of 11,000 kilograms with a maximum gross vehicle weight in excess of 32 tons. The option exists to incorporate an active protection system to counter the latest anti-tank weapon systems as well as the widely available and effective rocket propelled grenades (RPGs).

The LAV 700 armored vehicle platform is capable of fulfilling a variety of mission roles: armored personnel carrier (APC); command and control (C2); direct and indirect fire support incorporating 30 mm and 40 mm weapon systems as well as turreted mortars and assault guns; anti-tank; security, reconnaissance and surveillance; ambulance; and repair and recovery. Saudi Arabia is said to have ordered at least 900 LAV 700 armored vehicles.
