Description: The Swiss MOWAG company designed and developed the Piranha amphibious multipurpose armored vehicle as a private venture. The Piranha vehicles feature high survivability, high mobility due to the use of wheels, low life cycle costs, high reliability, high availability, and easy maintenance.
The Piranha IV 8x8 has been developed by MOWAG to meet any application beyond Piranha III capabilities. The heavier Piranha IV offers higher level of protection, compatibility with the digitized battlefield, built-in test capabilities, reduced radar and thermal signatures, and mine protection. The Piranha vehicles have been deployed in conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Several thousands of them are in service today in armed forces all over the world. The Piranha IV was a complete failure not beign ordered by any customer.
