Description: The Buk-M2, SA-17 Grizzly NATO-codename, is an upgraded version of the proven Buk-M1 road mobile air defense missile system (ADMS) and retains its main features. This multi-channel medium-range ADMS is designed to engage strategic and tactical aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters, and other aerial vehicles.

The Buk-M2 also comprises a command post, a target acquisition radar, up to six combat vehicles for reloading and repair operations, and up to six loader-launcher vehicles carrying four 9M38 missiles each. The Buk-M2 is intended as an upgrade for existing Buk-M1 air defense systems thus improving their overall performance.
