Description: The combat-proven M198 is a 155mm towed howitzer designed to replace the M114A1 in the US Army. It is helicopter-transportable, reliable and more available over its predecessor. It can hit targets at 22 km employing conventional ammunition and at 30 km with assisted ammunition.
The M198 towed howitzer was ordered by the US Army and the Marine Corps. Pakistan and Australia are foreign customers for this howitzer. It was successfully deployed for the first time during the Gulf War in 1991.
