Description: The NEXTER Trajan is a flexible and easy of use 155mm/52-caliber towed gun artillery system derived from the truck-mounted Caesar gun system and integrated on a carriage derived from the TR-F1 towed gun in service with the French Army. The Trajan has been designed to deliver rates of fire of six rounds per minute with a maximum range of 42 kilometers using Base Bleed ERFB ammunition or more than 55 kilometers using rocket assisted projectiles. This artillery system provides excellent accuracy due to automatic re-laying after each round with automatic setting up, laying and shell loading utilizing an hydraulically operated sub-system. The system also features an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), a highly accurate on-board navigation unit and an integrated fire control system that can connect to any Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) system. As of September 2011 NEXTER was offering the Trajan artillery system to the Indian Army.
