Description: The Tunguska-M is a short range missile/gun weapon system mounted on a 2S6 tracked armored vehicle. Its features a detection/tracking/fire control radar system and optical sensors mounted on the armored vehicle turret. It is intended to protect ground armored units from air strikes carried out by helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft at low altitude in any weather condition.

Each Tunguska-M weapon system comprises 8 sealed 9M311 missiles and two 30mm two-barrel 2A38M guns. The 30mm 2A38M gun provides a rate of fire of 4,800 rounds per minute at ranges from 200 to 4,000 meters. The 30mm guns can also engage targets flying from 0 to 3,000 meters of altitude. The Tunguska entered service in 1990 and features firing on the move capability to better achieve its goals.
