Description: The German Navy EGV, also known as Type 702, is a 20,000-ton class auxiliary replenishment ship designed to provide logistics and medical services support to combined task forces. The lead ship, called A 1411 Berlin, was commissioned by the German Navy in 2001 with a second being commissioned in 2002 and a third expected by 2012. These ships are equipped with flight deck and hangar for two helicopters. Their diesel-electric propulsion system allows a top speed of 20 knots. A single Berlin-class can transport 9,600 cubic meters of fuel, 550 cubic meters of water, 160 tons of ammunition, 280 tons of food, 100 tons of dry stores and 32 containers.
