Description:
Prithvi is a tactical ballistic missile with an estimated range of 150 - 350 kilometers developed and produced in India. It is based on single stage liquid fuel technology taken from Soviet V-75 missile utilized on SA-2 surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. Prithvi is not a sophisticated missile system. India has developed three variants: Phritvi I has a range of 150 km, Prithvi II can hit targets at 250 km and Prithvi III has a maximum range of 350 kilometers.
Prithvi ballistic missile can be deployed through Transporter-Erector-Launcher (TEL) vehicles. The Indian Army has placed firm orders for Prithvi missile to equip its artillery units.
