Passengers can afford enough room to conference and work while enjoying the aircraft's comfortable cabin. The Challenger fills the gap between the smaller Learjet and the huge Global which is more suitable for intercontinental trip rather than US coast-to-coast flights in the Bombardier product line portfolio. Challenger family also outstands by its reliability and long term service.

The Challenger 300 corporate jet has a wide-body cabin for up to 9 passengers. It is powered by two Honeywell HTF7000 turbofan engines rated at 6,826 pounds of thrust each. It can travel nonstop over distances of 3,100 nautical miles (5,700 km) at a cruise speed of Mach 0.8. Like the rest of Bombardier's business jets, Challenger 300 can operate form short runways. The Challenger 300 program was launched in 1999 and the first jet entered service into 2004.

On 19 September 2002, Searay Aviation signed an agreement on a Challenger 300 to be delivered in 2003. On 21 July 2004, Qatar Airways placed an order for one Challenger 300 midsize aircraft to be delivered in March 2005. On 22 July 2004, UAE's Royal Jet Group placed an order for two Challenger 300 super midsize jets plus two aircraft options. Aircraft deliveries were scheduled for 2005.

On 19 July 2006, United Aviation of Libya signed a purchase agreement with Bombardier Aerospace for a Challenger 300 and a Bombardier Global 5000 business jets. The aircraft were valued at $55 million. The signing was carried out at the Farnborough air show.
