Description: The Citation is a family of business jets developed by Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron owned company, to meet the requirements of customers operating from regional to intercontinental routes. Citation jets are powered by two turbofan engines and cruise at high speeds while delivering outstanding comfort to the passengers in their spacious cabins. Cessna has received more than 5,300 Citation jets orders since the program inception in 1975. As of early 2008, the Cessna Citation production models are: CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3, Encore+, XLS+, X, Sovereign, and Mustang with CJ4 and Columbus models to join Cessna's product line in 2010 and 2014 respectively.

The Citation CJ4 is the successor to the smaller members (CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3) of the Citation family of business jets. Citation CJ4 will feature the Collins ProLine 21 avionics suite, a new wing for enhanced performance and cabin modifications. The main cabin provides seating for seven to eight passengers, depending on layout, a large forward door, private lavatory, and large baggage compartment. Powered by two electronically controlled Williams FJ44-4A engines the CJ4 will operate at altitudes of up to 45,000-ft. First flight was anticipated in the first half of 2008 and entry into service in 2010.
