Description: The Oto Melara 127/64 Lightweight (LW) is a rapid fire naval gun designed primarily to engage surface targets such as ships or crafts and low-flying aircraft and other airborne threats as secondary role. The weapon system is based upon a 127mm, 5-inch, 64-caliber (127/64 LW) gun and a mount featuring stealth design. It can be installed on a large and medium displacement fighting ships such as frigates to destroyers, using digital or analogical interfaces to connect with the ship's combat management system.

The longer-range 127/64 LW naval gun features modular automatic charge and projectile handling and loading systems as well as automatic feeding system. The 127mm gun is fully compatibility with all available 127mm ammunitions, including Vulcano long-range guided-projectile. The feeding system allows the gun to choose between four different ammunition types simultaneous. The magazine, with a capacity for 56 (4x14) projectiles, can be reloaded while the gun is in firing operation.
