Description: The 6P50 is a 12.7mm heavy machine gun developed by the Russian Federation in the 1990s with the aim to equip infantry units and provide a variant called 6P49 to armored vehicles. The 6P51 is another version designed to serve as a coaxial machine gun on armored vehicles. The 6P50 12.7mm machine gun has been designed to engage light armored vehicles, fortifications and manpower at a distance of up to 2,000 meters and air targets at a range of up to 1,500 meters. The weapon is mounted on a special tripod the 6P50-6T7 is designed to engage ground targets while the 6P50-6U6 tripod is optimized against airborne threats. This infantry machine gun entered service with the Russian Armed Forces in 1998 and has been exported to several countries worldwide.
