Description: The Beretta ARX-160 is a modular 5.56x45mm assault riffle developed within the Italian Army's Soldato Futuro land warrior weapon system and being offered independently as a gun system for the export market. This riffle can be fed alternatively by a 30-round detachable box magazine or a 100-round C-mag drum magazine all of them using 5.56mm NATO-standard ammunition. The ARX-160 assault riffle was introduced in 2008 with the Italian Army ordered 30,000 units through 2014. Fitted with a 40mm grenade launcher the resulting weapon receives the GLX-160 designation. The standard barrel is 302mm long but can be replaced by a heavier version which is 406mm in length. There are versions of the ARX-160 riffle with barrels for 5.45x39 Soviet ammunition, 7.62x39mm and 6.8mm Remington ammunition. A battle riffle prototype with 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition exists as well.
