Description: The British Army Black Hornet Nano is a very short range, ultra-lightweight, hand-sized, tactical unmanned aerial system used for information gathering in urban terrain and enclosed terrain. The lightweight air vehicle is based on a finger-sized helicopter airframe with a nose-mounted mini camera and lacking landing gear. The operator uses a handheld computer device to control the nano air vehicle and visualize the tactical information. The Black Hornet has been operated by the British Army at least since 2013 in Afghanistan.
