Description: The United Instrument-Making Corporation Chirok, 'Teal' in English, is a tactical unmanned air vehicle (TUAV) equipped with an innovative air cushion landing and takeoff gear. The air cushion allows takeoff and landing operations without an air strip from soft soil, water, marshy terrain and loose snow. The Chirok was tested successfully in Zhukovsky in early 2014. Civilian customers can use this TUAV for surveillance during law enforcement missions and monitoring of fire in forests, disasters and traffic conditions. Military customers can use the Chirok for reconnaissance and offensive missions carrying weapons such as bombs, rockets and precision-guided missiles. The air vehicle weighs 700 kilograms (kg) and has payload of up to 300 kg operating at range of up to 2,500 kilometers and an altitude of up to 6,000 meters. In addition it can transport 2-3 passengers. It is powered by two center-fuselage propellers. The United Instrument-Making Corporation is working on further improvements that may expand the Chirok capabilities. The Chirok was unveiled at the Innoprom international technology exhibition in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on July 9, 2014. The first flight is planned for the summer of 2015.
