Description: The Davide is a 76mm 62-caliber anti-missile add-on kit developed by OTO Melara to perform at the inner layer of air defense systems. OTO Melara has designed the Davide to be integrated on the existing 76/62mm Super Rapid or Compact gun mounts and coupled to any fire control system. DART (Driven Ammunition Reduced Time of flight) is the smart ammunition fired and guided by the Davide system. The kit encompasses a radio-frequency data link that allows the DART munition to effectively engage the target while in-flight.

DART projectile features canard control surfaces, high terminal maneuverability, proximity programmable microwave fuze, a maximum range of 5 kilometers, and is suitable for all-weather conditions. The number of DART projectiles in flight is not limited to the Davide weapon system. In addition to its anti-missile primary role, Davide/DART can be used on engagements against a wide range of aircraft and small fast patrol boats. The average engagement requires the firing of three DART projectiles.
