Description: The GAU-8 is an outstanding seven-barrel 30mm Gatling gun capable of firing rounds at rates of 2,100 to 4,200 shots per minute. The variety of ammunition fired by this gun includes depleted uranium piercing/anti-armor rounds which may destroy any kind of Main Battle Tank (MBT) in service at the beginning of the 21st century. GAU-8 is the primary weapon system on the US Air Force A-10 Warthog/Thunderbolt II anti-tank aircraft and it is mounted below the aircraft's nose.
