Description: The ZKZM-500 is a 3-kg class man-portable infrared laser gun developed by China and designed to ignite flammable things at a maximum range of up to 800 meters. The weapon was developed by Chinese Academy of Sciences to equip Chinese armed police units both military and civilian. The weapon generates a single infrared laser beam for no more than two seconds with the battery being able to provide enough power for up to 1,000 shots. The ZKZM-500 non-lethal laser weapon existence was revealed in early July 2018 and its cost was estimated at $15,000 per unit. The ZKZM-500 resembles an assault rifle and could be provided to special operations forces to conduct sabotage missions.
