Description: The Rheinmetall MTS Lance is a medium-caliber, modular turret system (MTS) designed for integration into many medium and heavy wheeled and tracked chassis platforms. The basic version is provided with a 30mm Mk 30-2 automatic cannon but it can mount a variety of medium-caliber guns ranging from 25mm to 40mm. A secondary machine gun (7.62mm) and missile launchers to engage armored targets at longer ranges are also available for the Lance turret. This two-man, commander and gunner, turret can be equipped with independent observation (commander) and sight (gunner) systems. Various levels of ballistic protection are feasible utilizing modular add-on armor. The Lance is also available as a remotely controlled turret.

The Lance 35 is equipped with a 35mm automatic cannon and optionally can be equipped with anti-tank missiles and a secondary weapon station. The sensor package provided to this new version of the Lance turret along with optional weapon stations allows commander and gunner to engage targets independently thus deliver killer-killer capability. The Lance 35 turret has been provided to Rheinmetall Lynx family of armored vehicles beginning in 2016.
