Description: The Modular Advanced Weapon System (MAWS) is a weapon station developed by ATK for the United States Navy and intended for integration onto watercraft and ground platforms. ATK's M230LF 30mm Chain Gun is the main armament available for this weapon station. The MAWS includes integrated stabilization system, ballistic computation, and state-of-the-art sighting system that provides superior targeting for shipboard and ground engagements. In addition to the Chain Gun family, the platform can also integrate light, medium and heavy machine guns. The Remote Operator's Console (ROC) has a touch panel display, function and safety switches, and either dual grips or a military standard video game-type joystick controller allowing for ease of operation and maximum situational awareness. The MAWS was unveiled at the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi in February 2011.
