Description: The Mk 47 Striker is an advanced, lightweight, crew-served 40mm grenade weapon system. It incorporates the latest sensing, targeting and computing technologies to achieve an outstanding performance level over legacy grenade weapon systems. Its targeting system consists of a laser range finder, thermal night vision (AN/PWG-1) and a ballistic computer. The Striker40 fire control system is also known as the Lightweight Video System (LVS).

On 7 June 2006, General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products was awarded a multiyear contract valued at $23.5 million for the production of the MK47 MOD 0 weapon system. The procurement contract covered a five-year period with a potential value if all options are exercised of $83 million.
