Description: The QBZ-191 is intended as the QBZ-95 replacement assault rifle within the People's Liberation Army (PLA) was unveiled on October 1, 2019. The rifle is expected to use 5.8x42mm ammunition similar to NATO 5.56x45 and Russian 5.45x39mm fast ammunition. The rifle was developed by Number 208 Research Institute of China Ordnance Industries and features an extremely light design, improved accuracy and less recoil than the QBZ-95 assault rifle. The QBZ-191 assault rifle provides a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute and is effective at a range of up to 400 meters or 300 meters in the carbine version. The new assault rifle is expected to provide support to a new advanced with integrated sensors infantrymen comparable to those deployed by Western Armed Forces.
